CDR Group Inc.
Outplacement is an important element in the orderly termination of employees who have been displaced for a variety of reasons, including a perceived lack of fit between job demands and individual capabilities, reorganization of management, economic considerations, or the elimination of jobs due to corporate restructuring. The employer organization will retain a professional or professional group to assist the individual or group of individuals to achieve a smooth and positive career transition.
Firms who claim to offer outplacement services to corporations have proliferated in recent years. However, the type and quality of services they provide vary considerably.
To assist in your evaluation and selection of the proper outplacement service for your firm and its employees, the following is an outline of our unique service.
This service includes: the development of a customized marketing plan, professional copyrighting of all necessary resumes and letters, computerized research on employers, the handling of all the typing and laser printing requirements, and much more. Our creative materials, research and marketing support will save months of work when compared to traditional job search procedures.
As soon as an assignment is accepted, CDR will delegate a consulting team and schedule all the work to be prepared. This should be accomplished at the earliest possible date, so that the client may move into the marketplace with minimal delay.
1. Surfacing of Critical Personal Information
Consultants will conduct initial meetings evaluating the clients' situations and will ask them to complete our Career Analysis Profile forms. These penetrating documents will help surface important information identifying their assets, liabilities, positive personal qualities, work experience and goals.
2. Development of Personal Marketing Analysis
In-depth staff study of the Career Analysis Profile forms will be completed.
Personal assets that require emphasis in all communications will be identified.
Personal liabilities will be identified, and methods developed for handling them in the most effective manner.
3. Development of Employment Options
When applicable CDR will review the results of any occupational testing that a client may have requested.
A full review of occupational options will be completed.
Our consultants will develop a full range of possible industry options.
A determination of the client's income potential in the current job market will be made.
Clarification of possible short-and long-term goals, along with our recommendations, will be established.
4. Development of a Customized Marketing Action Plan
A detailed step-by-step 4 to 12-week marketing plan for generating interviews will be designed.
Personal interviewing and negotiating strategies will be prepared.
All work developed as part of points 2 through 4 (above) will go before an Executive Review Board for critique, refinement and approval.
5. Professional Resume Writing
Copywriters will draft and edit all resumes to be used. We fully realize that it is the clients' credentials which, when everything else is done properly, will ultimately determine the effectiveness of their marketing efforts. Our policy is to present an individual's credentials as powerfully as we can, but accurately and honestly, while making it apparent in the clearest possible way how he or she offers value to potential employers. We will strive to capture the best expression of what the individual has to offer. Clients must be satisfied that these resumes are accurate presentations of their credentials or we will promptly make any appropriate adjustments.
6. Introducing Our Computer Research Capabilities
Depending upon the situation and level, personal letters can be of varying importance during a campaign. To help get started, our writers will draft and edit the key letters that they believe will be necessary.
Our data processing systems are used to put information at a client's fingertips. They can save hundreds of hours that would otherwise be spent by clients while they learn, by trial and error, the process of gathering the market information necessary for a successful job search.
7. Research on Employers to Contact by Industry, Size and Location
Every year job seekers spend millions of hours as they put together lists of employers. Now, hundreds of hours of research can be accomplished in a matter of minutes. From a
8. Research on Private Opening Indicators
On a continuous basis, "events" occur in thousands of firms that lead management to seek new talent. As a result of these situations, job openings come into existence. Our researchers scan news items daily in search of events that may indicate impending hiring activity. These events are recorded in our proprietary "Current Events Newsletter published every month," which is made readily available to our clients.
In all cases we will identify, verify, and provide the decision maker.
Please note:
Normally, we require about ten days to accomplish the work outlined in points 2 through 8. Many members of our marketing organization contribute extensive analysis, creative and research efforts.
9. Private Presentation of All Marketing Recommendations
All the work mentioned above in points 2 through 8 will have been prepared in advance over a ten-day period. We will require the outplacement individual to visit our consulting office for one to two full days, depending on our assessment of their backgrounds. At that time, our consulting staff will review with clients the groundwork that has been developed for their campaigns. This would include our full marketing analysis, our detailed review of options, the marketing action plan we create, as well as the resumes, letters and all research support we have prepared. In addition, we will clarify any questions that arose from our careful assessment of the Career Analysis Profile forms, and make available our video facilities for image/interviewing development.
10. Written Marketing Plan Summary Report
As soon as we have concluded the private meeting described above, it is valuable to summarize all of our recommendations in written form. Accordingly, after our presentation is completed, we will prepare a detailed written recap of all key recommendations for the client's permanent reference.
11. Campaign Management Ongoing Administrative Support
The support staff will do all printing, typing, word processing and duplicating for the client's campaign, utilizing laser- printing equipment.
Our consulting staff will be available for personal professional consulting on an as-required basis. We will manage the campaign from start to finish, take care of all administrative details, and be responsible for direction, continuing research and creative materials. Our consulting staff will assist during the interviewing and negotiating phases of the search, and in the selection of the most suitable offers.
